Horse Logging, Milling & Woodcraft

For many years I was the Owner/Operator of a horse logging and milling business in the Northern Sierra Nevada Mountains. However, I have always loved the water and when the opportunity came to move to the Pacific Northwest, I took it. This allowed me to combine my two passions: woodworking and sailing.

The inspiration for Salty Sea Dog Woodcraft came from our Welsh Mountain Terrier/Border Collie, Dasher. He loved boating excursions where he was the navigator/tactician on our 36-foot Islander Freeport sailboat, Puget Sounder. Together, we logged many hours sailing the Salish Sea and exploring the San Juan Islands.

The business was named in memory of him.
